Jane Newman – Clinical Director

MSc Advanced Physiotherapy, Member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP), BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPC).
Jane gained her bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from the University of the West of England in 1999 and went on to gain her Master’s Degree in Sports Physiotherapy and membership to the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MMACP) from University College London in 2005. Jane was an Advanced Level Practitioner and Regional Clinical Lead Physiotherapist for the Nuffield Hospitals for ten years and sat on the executive board of the MACP before taking on Peak Physio full time.
Jane has worked in the NHS, in private practice and within elite level sport both in the UK and abroad. In 2012 Jane was selected to be a physiotherapist for athletes at the Olympic Games, based at the Olympic Stadium, London, and Physiotherapist for athletes at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Jane has a particular passion for running and running related injuries.
A Physiotherapist to the English Institute of Sport (EIS) since 2005, Jane and has been the Lead Physiotherapist at many international events for the England Athletic Team. Having worked with many different athletes from recreational to elite level Jane has wide experience in preparing for athletic performance, conditioning for injury prevention and providing sports specific rehabilitation. Since 2003 Jane has also been closely involved with the Runner’s world magazine speaking at conferences on Injury prevention, training and Marathon preparation as well as answering problem questions for the magazine.
Jane is a mother of two and is actively involved in a range of sports from triathlon to skiing. Among her many achievements are winning the Himalayan Ultra marathon, pacing the London Marathon, and completing the Barcelona Ironman. She is also the organiser of the annual Jurassic Coast 10km run in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity.

Sport Injuries, running biomechanics, keeping elderly patients independent and active. Jane loves variety and equally loves getting her patients back to the sports they love as well as well as working with Elderly patients to maximise their daily independence and mobility.
