From physiotherapy, osteopathy and remedial massage to reflexology and hypnotherapy our expert team will optimise your return to full fitness.
Physiotherapy
Helps alleviate pain, restore normal movement and function and help individuals achieve their full fitness potential and goals. As well as relieving symptoms, physiotherapy teaches long term self management of musculo skeletal problems.
We not only cater for the needs of the sporting population but also people with everyday complaints, children and the elderly. Whether you have a sports injury, work injury, back or neck pain, just had surgery, or just suffering general aches or tightness, we can assist you with your problem.
We are able to use the full facilities at David Lloyd, whether you are a member of not, as part of your rehabilitation programme.
Osteopathy
Recognises that the structure of your body effects how you can function and adapt to life’s challenges. So, by helping to restore movement, we allow better functioning and this promotes good health and well-being.
Osteopathy can also be used to help with the aches and pains of an established disease, or injury.
By using skills in observation and palpation, osteopaths are trained to assess the tissues and biomechanics of you body to find areas of congestion and restriction. We use a variety of techniques in treatment to make sure the most appropriate techniques are chosen for each individual. These include joint manipulation, soft tissue massage, and visceral, ligament and tendon release techniques.
Cranial osteopathy uses these same principles but works on the more subtle restrictions, making it ideal to use with babies and children as well as adults.
Massage
We offer a range of massage techniques from a sports massage to assist with releasing muscle tension to a more soothing massage to help with restoring body balance, stress relief and relaxation.

Reflexology
Based on the historic understanding that all the organs of the body have corresponding reflex points in the feet and hands, Reflexology works each point, using specific thumb and finger pressure techniques, and is believed to release tension/congestion and strengthen your natural healing process.
Reflexology is used to help restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium. This gentle therapy encourages the body to work naturally bringing the whole person back into a contented balance.
Each session of reflexology works on an individual basis.

Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a method of changing your thoughts, behaviours, and even your body’s biochemistry using the power of your imagination!
Hypnosis works by guiding you into a very deep state of relaxation, which some hypnotherapists prefer to call a “trance”. This is not to be confused with sleep. You are actually consciousness. This state has been referred to as “double consciousness.” During this stage, the hypnotherapist begins providing the unconscious mind with positive suggestions and metaphors (stories) to help achieve the goals of the individual. In this state it is also possible to recall any event from the past that may have been repressed.
Hypnosis is one of the quickest and most exciting ways to make positive, lasting change to your health and life. And contrary to popular myth, hypnosis is completely safe… and you can experience huge leaps forward
Hypnosis works by guiding the mind into a state of deep relaxation. In this “trance” state, the critical filtering capabilities of the conscious mind are bypassed, allowing the hypnotherapist the unconscious mind… the “control panel” of the brain. The terms sub-conscious mind and unconscious mind are identical.
Hypnosis also works by the hypnotherapist talking in the “language” of the unconscious mind, ensuring the conscious mind doesn’t interfere at all. This is achieved through a combination of guided visualization exercises and through the use of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
